Yesterday's painting fiasco took so long that I got overtired and went into googling mode... so, you know 4 a.m. and I've collected Weird Holidays from 4 or 5 sites and begun collating them.

And then of course I HAD to finish collating today so that ate up much of the day.

Tomorrow's a trash day, so I wanted to chop up some more Asparagus Fern & get it out. I compost a lot of yard stuff, but can't with that- it would probably GROW. It was cool again today, so that was nice. I cut back enough to fill a 42 gallon heavy construction trash bag, and can almost get at my secondary compost heap now. For a year I've been shot-putting bundles of weeds into it because I couldn't get closer than 10 feet away.

It's now Jan.31 which is, among other things--'Inspire your Heart with Art Day'.

Which had no bearing on me finally getting around to making a design for the next Spoonflower contest- the deadline is tomorrow afternoon. The theme was Mountain Animals & I would have thought that would be right up my alley, but I have been in house fixing mode and it was hard to get back to drawing at all.

Blue Mountain Animals(Literally.)

Upcoming holiday I think people might enjoy-

Feb. 20 is Northern Hemisphere Hoodie-Hoo Day! Go out at noon on Feb. 20th, wave your hands over your heads and chant "Hoodie-Hoo". This will chase away winter blahs, and bring in spring.

(There's another Hoodie-Hoo Day for the Southern Hemisphere, but that's Aug. 22, way way off.)

Lovely day today, was cloudless and under 70 F earlier.

Mockingbird, Turkey Vulture, Palm Warbler, Northern Parula Warbler )

Ok, I should get to work, haven't done much today.

Well, I turned some of the turkey vulture photos into a design, that's something. :^)

I'm feeling a bit depressed (brain chemistry I think, no particular reason I can think of) and so to avoid messing up my No Procrastinating streak I've been doing little things that had got put off, and one of them was going through the stack of Christmas cards I kept meaning to sort through. It goes back to 2009. Yikes. (It's not a HUGE stack because what with postage increases, etc. I had been reducing my correspondance starting a few years before that.) But still, it was always easier to drop each years few cards on top after admiring them, rather than sort them into keepers, chuckers, crafters, only keeping for address, etc.

Sally had sent me a Sock Monkey Bookmark Calendar back in 2011. Yep. It's a booklet of bookmarks photos of Sock Monkeys printed on shiny paper, with tiny calendar months above each one, with preforations so you can remove the bookmark separate from the calendar.

They make me giggle. One of them is even made up to be Mr. T!

Thanks, Sally. :^)
