As seen on [livejournal.com profile] sallymn who borrowed it from [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen

Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know.

OMG, I loved your story "Bad Moon Rising." A werewolf!Avon fic with hot, hot, hot Blake/Avon scenes. And I totally LOL when you referred to Avon's arse emerging from the blankets as said "bad moon." LOL!

I admit, I have a sneaking affection for that story. The first sentence:

"The affair with Blake started when Avon forgot what time of the month it was."

I've never got over the one where Jenna took Avon shopping for curtains and throws to brighten up Blake's cottage while he(Blake) was waiting to have Cally's baby.

Oh, yes. That was 'Curtain Call' wasn't it?

I recall having to cut out the scene where the unborn baby was telepathing to everyone, and the entire crew curled up fetally on the braided rag rug in the cottage just when Travis showed up. I couldn't figure out a way NOT to get them all blasted to bits, so I had to leave that out. It was a pity, because the baby telepathy was fun.

The part I remember was the argument in soft furnishings. Jenna insisting on big, blousy, baroque roses and Avon restrained Regency stripes. It was a stroke of genius the way you had the sales assistant negotiate a compromise on William Morris.

Wasn't there one called "Blake 'n' Drake"? A crossover between the B7 and Drake's Voyage universes. I remember the hilarious consequences of mistaken identity.

The last sentence of that one sticks in my mind.

"Avon eventually became accustomed to the beard, it was a small price to pay to keep Drake from realizing that he and Doughty had switched places permanently- Doughty happily serving under Blake on Liberator, whilst Avon and Drake committed piracy on the Golden Hind Two."

Nice implied joke there - "Golden Hind Two". Now I have to wonder at what the *bleep* happened to the first ship. :)

Well, when Drake & his crew got flung into the future the Golden Hind wound up in Liberator's hold. They couldn't use it in space, of course, but they sold it to Sarkoff for more than enough to commission a lovely new spaceship.

Oh, I was thinking of Blake & Avon going back in time, not Drake & co coming forwards. I must have confused it with another story you didn't write.

Yes, that was another tale. The scene where Drake captures Servalan was a riot.

Actually, in that case, *all* my money would be on Servalan. I bet Cally would have thought it was a hoot when Drake thought she was Queen Elizabeth and went all Meegat on her though.

Drake always was a social climber. :^)

The Giraffes of Gauda Prime...

And you managed to HEX it again! It isn't everyone who could so plausibly and touchingly bring off that last-minute rescue by freedom-loving ungulate androids, and the rise of the new order, humans and... others. And Avon being adopted by the Lord High Giraffe was oddly touching.
