So far only one pool guy gave me an estimate. I'll call the other two tomorrow, to see what's up. At this point I doubt I'll go with them, but I would like more than one estimate, at least for bargaining power.

It's a lovely day, but chilly by my standards. I was out in the yard for hours, clearing away weeds & dirt from the public sidewalk in front of my house. My fingers are sooo cold.

I picked up the mail and there was ANOTHER water bill from the NY property. *SHEESH* I called & explained that I'd sold it Dec. 5, and at that time called the water co. & did as I was told to pay & make sure the service was transferred & all done according to their rules & had it CONFIRMED when I called back afterward. The guy said 'oh, you were supposed to call for a final reading'. *sheesh* After I repeated that I'd done as I was told to do by them, he went away for a couple minutes and came back saying it's all ok now, all transferred & the bill will be sent to the new owners & I don't have to do anything. I'd been paying $80 every 3 months to them for NO water usage for over a year. There *STILL* hasn't been any water used in the place (the new owners are no doubt wanting to fix it up before moving in). So, one more long distance call... luckily there was very little wait.

I expect 3 months from now there will be another water bill...
