Date: 2009-05-06 05:49 pm (UTC)Even in Miami, when they have parks, they're mainly grass, some unkempt trees, beach, picnic tables, barbecue grills, maybe a shower stand for you to rinse off after dipping in the ocean.
Amelia Earhart Park is an astounding wonder to me. The slobs who visit it have no respect for it. They've carved their names into trees, and left rubbish EVERYWHERE. I picked up stuff until my back got twingy. Next time I go, I want to remember to bring along a bunch of plastic bags and some kind of long-handled grabber so I can do more.
