Tote that barge Lift that bale -2 lizard photos included
Got out the ladder to replace another ceiling light bulb in the kitchen.
Moved ironing board to back table to work on the proposed totes- revealed a couple pins, a lot of dust, a box of antique buttons with a couple packages of sewing machine needles- maybe the kind meant for sewing leather?, a respirator mask (never opened), 5 boxes of unopened Covid-19 home tests, and 3 cards saying to check the FDA for extended expiration dates on the test--- went to the Net- all 5 were past even the extended expiration date. Will open to save the unused swabs which are pretty good for cleaning dust in crevices, like on the computer keyboard, & toss the rest of it.
Ironing the scraps which were often cut short bolt ends, removing the stapled on 50 cents etc tags, and peeling off the occasional tiny bit of tape that had been used to hold them to the bolt made me think of the word BOLT.
AND I REALIZED! One meaning of Bolt is 'fast' and the piece of metal that *makes fast/FASTENS* things together is called a BOLT! It's so OBVIOUS. :^)
I'm ironing A LOT more than I'll use for these totes, probably. Not sure until I start with the iron ons- I have Thanksgiving/Harvest Festival, Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day, and some Southwestern motifs... hmmm...Christmas is gonna be Totes in the Bag.
HAH. Spooonflower sent me an email reminding me of their current promotional sale, and for a moment I was ALL YAY! For once they showed ONE OF MY DESIGNS. But then... it was wallpaper in a room, and the ROOM DESIGNER (Hero image: room design by a katherinebaima) got credit for the image, and other Spoonflower shops got listed as 'featured' because SF had selected them for collections. *SIGH* SO even when it LOOKS like I got a bit of visibility, I really didn't.
None of the Katherine Baimas I could find (there were some mentioned on websites I couldn't see without signing up- Linked In, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) seem to have any connection with interior design, or a website where I could see the photo. I even tried Google image search on the photo, which just gave me a bunch of other room photos. *shrug*
Finished the ironing (Googling says Ironing burns up calories- count varies 75 to 100 calories per hour. Supposedly a pound of body fat contains 3,500 calories. No, I am not going to spend 35 hours ironing.).
Take a game break (good thing about the 15 minute interval to get more gold at Zoo Boom- my internal timer now gets me up and moving from whatever I'm doing), fic break and then I SHOULD go out and try New Max. Clouds look a bit gray, shouldn't wait too long.
Oops, too late I see raindrops on the window. Not risking holding a long metal pole with one end in water and the other end pointing up at the sky. Hi, THOR.
Started measuring and cutting totes. Had lunch.
The rain never was more than a few drops & the clouds turned white and far between, so I took New Max out and pushed him around the pool until I was out of energy (at least 3 times around the whole thing and it's a BIG pool) but New Max still was running. With luck tomorrow Old Max will do the same & if so, then I prob. will try to buy another charger- if that's what wears out first, seems like a good idea.
OK, wow, 5:30. I finished cutting the basic tote pieces (different sizes according to the available fabric. Getting too late to start the next step- trying to get the iron ons in place. I'm thinking about HOW to get them to stay on- the iron on is only meant as temporary until you stitch it down, but these are complicated shapes so stitching down will be tedious. Hmmm... decisions decisions--
Ok, I'm giving up on working any longer tonight.
