I tried wood engraving again- this time I used a larger piece of wood (Home Depot free samples! This is a 3 1/2 by 5 inch piece). I sketched in pencil first & was going to clean off the pencil afterward, but I decided it looked good, so I left it that way.

It reminds me of a Thai wooden cat I have, a chunky curled-up one I'm very fond of.

Oh, yes! Now that you mention it, I think I recall you used that as a basis for Naart one year. I was aiming for a folk art look with this piece, and quite like the way it turned out.

I haven't drawn that one. I'd say "yet" but I just don't have time for naart this year. It's quite different from the flat ones with their heads on their paws, she's just curled up like yours.
