I posted a few older (not that old, a couple years at most) fic to AO3 this morning, including a Stargate Atlantis fic, and on re-reading it for errata I realized how many character type overlaps there are not only with the Avengers but also B7.

Here's a list comparing SGA & Avengers & B7 characters, just off the top of my head as I rest up from vaccing the pool before I try to resume writing Avengers fic. I DID finish one of the epic wips, YAY.

Socially awkward Techy Genius (Rodney & Tony & Avon)
Military guy who argues/orders genius around (John & Steve & Blake)
Big muscular guy from another culture (often considered a bit dim by fen, although not necessarily written that way) (Ronon & Thor & Gan- in BBC promo material said to come from another planet)
Genius's genius buddy (Zelenka & Bruce & Vila -well genius in his field)
Kickass foreign/alien woman (Teyla & Natasha & Cally)
Background & disposable person (Aiden Ford & Coulson & Gan)
Just there for the boobs (Jennifer Keller & Maria Hill & Jenna)
Scary bastard in black leather (lots of Wraith & Fury & Travis)
Doctor - whether medically qualified or not (Carson Beckett & Bruce & Cally)

Hey! Jenna is a genius pilot! I don't know if you've seen Odyssey 5 or not but it would be a hoot watching Jenna and Angela realize that there's more than one kick-ass woman pilot on board.

Jenna is a genius pilot the way Dayna is a genius weapons designer- mentioned at the beginning, but after that, they're pretty much taken for granted.

Haven't even heard of Odyssey 5. I'm so out of the media loop-- no TV, don't watch shows on any of the on-line sources, and on average see 1 movie per year.

I wouldn't have even seen the Avengers if Z hadn't directed me to vidclip of RDJ Tony wriggling his ass... I'm shallow. Very. Very. Shallow.
