They say that once it's out of beta you'll be allowed to turn off infinite scroll. (I don't think I'll wait and hope they keep their word at some indefinable time. When infinite scroll turns up, I'm shutting the flist tab and giving up on LJ.) and you'll be allowed a few customization options like text size and background image.
They also say that people misunderstood the 'canceling paid accounts next year' auto-translation from the Russian announcement (since it wasn't posted in English, auto-translation was the only way English speaking users could get the information.) They say they're not canceling existing accounts or paid for features, but instead having a standard account where you choose to add what paid/extra features you wish. Already existing paid or permanent accounts will be treated as premium/elite accounts (which means whatever they want it to mean.)
