A pair of geese- the one in the front fluffed the head feathers just as I snapped.

Egyptian geese- been domesticated for hundreds of years, people like them because they're so pretty. They don't seem to have a high success rate at breeding when feral, so prob. this pair prob. escaped from somewhere not too far away.

They're about the same size as a duck, which made it confusing when I searched to find out what they were. They're in the shelduck family, sorta, I think? Where shelducks are large ducks and Egyptian geese are small geese. My head hurts. PRETTY BIRDS.

I'm assuming this is a hybrid between a mallard and a domestic white duck. Ducks hybridize freely, so you can see some really exotic crosses.

More mallard & mallard crosses-- planning WORLD DOMINATION. Everyone, DUCK.
