Not only would Steve Rogers have seen lots of scantily-clad beauties at the 1940 New York World's Fair, in my AU where Tony was his contemporary...

Tony could have seen ELEKTRO! A golden robot made by Westinghouse, who moved on ROLLERS. AND he had a glowing round light in his chest. He also *flirted* (at one point in his speech he says, 'I see a lot of numbers today') (as in 'hot numbers'- attractive women), smoked cigarettes and bragged about his big brain.

I wonder if Stan Lee had been thinking of Elektro when he created Iron Man. :^)

AND BEST of ALL Elektro is STILL around! He was found in pieces, languishing, and has been restored (I don't know if he functions any longer, but at least he's got his head on a body).

Elektro didn't have a person inside- it actually did respond to commands. So cool.

That is so awesome. I'm so glad they found and reassembled him, that would have been heartbreaking if he was just in pieces somewhere still.
