Ok, today's another day.

Weather looks good & innards seem to have settled & hip is only faintly cool/burny, which will probably improve if I get up and move around.
So called taxi & he says he'll be here in about 15 min. Time enough for a quick post. ;^)
Roostery (uses Spoonflower designs to make custom home furnishings) now offers wallpaper. I should go back to studying the CooperHewitt antique wallpapers, the high-res ones often have very good ideas for texture layerings- serpentine, criss cross, boxes, spaced groups of dots, etc. that all add interest to the featured motifs above.
and HAH! One of my designs is included in the 3 pages of featured wallpapers (out of the many thousands of available designs.) I am chuffed.

Ok, pulling the plug on the computer now. Wish me luck, I'm facing the wilds of Hellholeah.
EDIT: WHEW. 1:30 and I'm back.
Taxi driver kindly said he'd wait for me at the post office (the grocery is just across a narrow street, but eh, he knows I'm crap at crossing streets). Front door BLOCKED with little sign, use other door. So went around to the narrow door meant for POBox users. Got into the main lobby & there were only 4/5 people ahead of me (looked like 2 were together) and 1 clerk taking care of 1 customer. I thought, ok. He seems slow, but still...
Then the clerk went into the back room. Five minutes goes by. More customers come in. No clerks. At all. But we could HEAR THEM. Loud talking and laughter in the back room. Finally clerk returns & tells his customer (elderly woman with a walker) someone will be out to help her in a minute, and he takes another customer, slowly- what's in this package? Oh, ok, well see that box, yeah, click 'no' and then.... Another few minutes rolls by. The clerk to help the first customer shows up and starts doing whatever. A third clerk comes out and I'm hoping this maybe means a bit more action. Third clerk starts chatting about friends with first clerk who stops what he's doing to converse.
****steam rising from my ears**** Eventually I get my package mailed. Taxi driver kindly refused to charge me for waiting time. Dropped me off at grocery.
Usual inconveniences- WHYWHYWHY will they not arrange spices alphabetically, even within the same brands? I spent a solid five minutes looking through hundreds of spice bottles to find the two really *exotic* things I wanted- poultry seasoning, and sesame seed. Had to buy a brand I didn't trust because only one brand had them at all and check them on line for gluten when I got home. (Luckily it seems they're safe.)
And then they didn't have my vitamins. Ok, you can't stock every kind of vitamin. But they also didn't have ANY ear plugs! Or little paper bathroom cups- you know the 4 oz thingies? They had a 12 foot long section of shelf filled with dozens of different styrofoam and plastic coffee cup and larger sizes, but no paper bathroom cups. I wound up asking a worker who was putting stuff on shelves. She got a guy who told me it looked like they weren't stocking them anymore. But if I bought it somewhere else, and then used it up and brought the empty box back to them, they could maybe scan it and see if they were going to order it.
I was like... WTF? No.
Called the taxi when I was picking up the last few items & lucked out with a line that had no problems (this time I was smart and when the first line I looked at had a clerk doing nothing, a bagger doing nothing and a frustrated looking shopper, I headed for the next line. Carefully I put a spacer bar between my stuff and the person ahead of me (last time the clerk fubared and threw three of my items on the other person's bill before we could stop her.)
Got my stuff, got outside & taxi was right there. I was rejoicing in not having to worry about chocolate melting, etc. when a man approached me with a plastic bag. 'Lady, they gave me your stuff. I was behind you in line.' And he handed me my bottle of chocolate syrup. DAMMIT, I should have put a spacer bar BEHIND my stuff as well.
I decided I could do without paper cups, but I really needed the vitamins and earplugs, so taxi guy stopped off at a drugstore & I got those two items.
Am so tired. Dealing with human interaction is exhausting. BUT BUT BUT! I HAVE BANANANANANAANNAS! Life is good.
I may even cut up a banana and put chocolate syrup on it.
YAY. I just got a notice that someone bought 2 yards of fabric printed with one of my designs, from the Amazon shop. :^)
EDIT 2: Apparently the 3 pages featured wallpaper designs was a fleeting moment (they hadn't finished loading, I suppose. I'm now lost in the many thousands again. *sigh*) It was just ego, anyway. The wallpaper is very pricey and you can't even save by installing it yourself since it's got to be pasted & doublecut (at least Spoonflower's wallpaper is DIY and removable). So even the highest profile designs aren't really likely to be bought.
I had suggested they go with a sewing room chair for a new product- THAT someone might have bought, since there are few available & they're all covered in ugly fabrics. But you can get wallpaper in zillions of designs in zillions of places, including walk in stores where you can judge the quality before you buy.
