I had fresh loquat fruit for breakfast. The lower branches that I didn't cut have some fruit ripening. Still don't see any indication that birds have taken advantage of the basket of hair I left for them in the tree. I DID see one of the mockingbirds flying with a twig in its beak yesterday- it went across the street to a huge avocado tree that I expect will one day fall in a hurricane and either smash the sewer lift station or the home in its yard. Yes, I DO look at trees suspiciously.

I saw several ant lion traps. Think of them as tiny Sarlacc pits (from Star Wars). They smooth the sand out so well that ants slide down until the JAWS leap up and get them. Ant Lions are the immature form of an insect that looks like a very tiny, very bad flier of a dragonfly.

Cartoon about weaver ants that's so dramatic, it mesmerized me. It's about 8 minutes long.

While waiting for cookies to get done yesterday (I lost 7 pounds since January 11, so I figure I can have a few cookies), I was reading Teen Wolf fanfic. I try not to pay attention to minor typos, but when I read 'Peter Hale spun to look at Stiles, fans dropped and eyes glowing blue'--- well, the mental image I had was of a fan dancing stripper... which probably could be a Teen Wolf AU. Hmm...

Still sorting out papers that were in piles-- I keep finding more on pretty much every level surface in the place. Every time I get the sorting stack reduced, I find more stuff to stick on the bottom. So many trees died for this...

While watering I saw glimpses of a white haired person doing something in front of my hedges. I went to see- older woman was ripping pieces of my gardenia bush off, collecting them in a bundle. I said Hello? and she was all... Bueno! Gracias! and went off across the street.

I was bemused by that...she didn't take just one piece, no, she had ripped off at least half a dozen sprouts. And you know? I've been trying to get that bush back to health and deliberately NOT cutting off the pieces with flower buds. And here I get 'Good' and 'Thank you' instead of at least 'I'm sorry. I thought you wouldn't notice' but no, make it sound like I had agreed to let her do it, and she was kindly accepting the offering as good enough quality and I should be grateful.

GRR.

Still waiting and hoping for word about the tax confusion. Spoonflower has a new mess up brought to my attention by a fellow artist on the SF Flickr Forum (thank heaven Flickr unscrewed me and let me go back). New fun... at least some new designs can't be SEARCHED using the Spoonflower search. The artist had complained about this a few days ago, and they fixed her one unfindable design, and told her it was a site-wide fix. Well, she had another new design go unsearchable today.

The SF search is abyssmal anyway, and this just makes it even harder. The one search type 'New' USED to at least give a design temporary boost of visibility, regardless of whatever priority SF gives the best selling designers, but now, if it's new, it gets nothing. MAYBE they eventually become searchable, but without the Newness factor, they'll be far down in the search results (if they show at all, the number of results are limited). This may explain at least partly why my new designs never seem to sell until they get much older.

So, out of the 24 designs I'd put up and set for sale since the 16th, only ONE is searchable. I complained and was told they have a whole team working to correct designs this happens to. Does that mean you correct them ONE at a TIME, and only if you complain? Instead of fixing whatever's wrong with the site.

GRUMBLE. I am GOING to put peanut butter on a chocolate chip cookie and EAT IT.

Sounds like you're making steady progress with the paper piles.

And GRR for people who nick flower buds.
