After watering the front, and a bit of weeding, and taking a couple photos outside of the completed Elephant Tote bag I noticed the
ceiling light was out in kitchen, got ladder, while doing that, took down clock, removed battery, brushed the contacts, put in new battery, set the time, wiped down top of door sill.

Then thought about making cookies & grabbed the nearest collection of gluten free recipes in a binder & started looking at them & sorting a bit (threw out a WHY did I save this pamphlet about cooking with Color- like do I NEED instructions on how to make a fruit kabob? Discovered splotch of dried grease? something under the binder and cleaned that, and while moving stuff discovered a package of microwave steamer bags I used maybe ONCE years ago, put the MSB on top of the microwave to hopefully remember to use, then got a bag of GF baking flour & saw it has a recipe for GF chocolate chip cookies on the back, so I went to the container on the sideboard where I discovered old chocolate chips & powder & that the top of the container was grimy.

The butter was frozen so I will wait to start the cookies. With all the non-perishable ingredients laid out on the kitchen counter, I doubt I'll forget.

So, the other day I'd found the letter Mt Sinai sent me in mid Jan. which said 'this is not a bill, do not pay, wait for a bill', which included the $6369.00 on it as owed/due (whatever, I couldn't remember). I put the letter aside where I would EASILY find it.

Yeah. You guessed it. I spent over an hour rooting through various stacks of paper, throwing out WHY am I keeping this? Trying to find the letter. Then I gave up and went to the My Chart website to look at the payment options. Then I tried to call the billing number I got the other day, but the phone said 'mobile is not available use Wifi'. I have prepay, and no mobile plan, but the WIFI router is 2 feet away from me, and is working fine. So go into the phone settings and turn OFF the wifi, turn it back on, and make sure to Select my home wifi which was already selected. Then I got to call billing and explained- I don't have insurance, I'm self-pay, I got a letter saying 'not a bill, do not pay, wait for a bill' but the bill never came. After the usual verification I paid over the phone using the same card I'd used in the hospital for the pre-pay & got a confirmation number and a confirmation email.

So that's done. Wasn't entirely a waste of time, in addition to throwing out more crap, I found a Christmas present I had forgot about- A Marvel compilation book- IRON MAN The Inevitable, still sealed in plastic.

Started the second tote- spilled a box of pins, while picking them up, I discovered a rolled up foam-backed plastic pressing pad- foam gone completely orange and falling to crumbs, also found a couple still good press pads. Shows how long it's been since I ironed more than a couple patches.

I went to use Max. I had used it yesterday and put it to charge, but the charge indicator stayed green (meaning fully charged) instead of switching to red (charging) so I was a little ??? Today it ran for a couple minutes and stopped. When I went to take it off the pole (very long aluminum pole that stays outside) I saw a TAIL tip. OMG. I shook out a mummified adult male rainbow lizard. I suspect it crawled in, and then couldn't back out. OMG OMG.

So I brought Max in and tried plugging it in to charge- again, light stayed green, never switched to red. I tried 4 different outlets. Dug up the manual, went to the website, tried the chat (which isn't a chat, it's just a series of flow chart options), after I went through the 'problem with product', type of product, product model, the CHAT ENDED. THEN I tried 'want to buy' and that time it didn't end the chat, but wound up with give your email someone will contact you- I gave the email, whatever. THEN I tried the customer service phone number and got an actual human being, after some back and forth- (is it less than a year old, in warranty? Nope.) I was just trying to find out 'is it likely the charger is bad, which is the one part I could order and not have to take the thing apart' I got her down to admit 'it could be the charger, or it could be the battery or wiring or whatever in the unit' you can buy the charger for XX$ and we'll send it to you, or you could buy the internal stuff if you feel comfortable taking it apart yourself, or you can send us the whole thing and we'll test it and tell you what's wrong and how much it'll cost to repair.

YEAH, No. I'm going to try once more to charge it. And then I'll grump for a while, and check out the buying options- if Amazon has it, I can almost certainly avoid postage. Maybe tomorrow. I did TWO phone calls interacting with human being today, that's more than my limit for shutting down brain service.

Started making cookies- got it all mixed and went to push back the bag of GF flour I had just opened-- and there was another bag of GF flour also open. OOps.

The recipe mentioned parchment paper. Do I have... silly question I found 2 opened rolls.

First batch of cookies done...meh, I think I prefer my old recipe. Still... any cookies are better than none.

OMG, I got sucked into checking out Epic. Music is lovely, but I could resist. BUT THEY ANIMATED it. Sure, it's rough draft animation, BUT... pull away, Marian, Pull AWAY....

resistance is useless...
