One utility called back & said 'no prob, will put it in the mail tomorrow'. I tried calling the remaining utilities again, and again, got one Uber-protective secretary who wouldn't let me talk to the guy, and 3 voice mails. I called Ira & told him I was mailing them a short note requesting the no-objection letter (I read it to him to see if he noticed anything likely to cause problem), a printout of a few old pics showing how long the pool's been like that & copies of the survey with the city's highlighted no-no areas. Put the four in the mail.

I've been not at all in the mood for working on the taxes- MAYBE one of these people will call me back & I couldn't concentrate on that. So instead I've been mindlessly photoshopping the World's Worst description of a woman in a professionally published novel (frankly, I don't think anything in fanfic can possibly come near it.)

Last night I was also procrastinating and Harvested tons of images to put into this woman. It may very well be too horrible to post when done. It depends on how brave I am at the time. I haven't even finished her *face* yet.

This news post tells what's happened and steps to take to avoid it.

The most important bit--The recent break-ins resulted from hijackers finding and accessing lapsed Hotmail accounts that were used with LiveJournal accounts and publicly displayed on Profile pages in the past. You should be aware that Hotmail recycles email addresses that haven't been used in more than a year. If you validated a Hotmail address for your journal and displayed it publicly in the past, but then let the address lapse, someone who finds and re-registers that address can use it to obtain control of the journal.

They can take over your journal or community, delete everything, put up spam/malware links, and lock you/your community's maintainers out.

If you have a community with inactive maintainers, you should remove them for security reasons.
