*Yawn* I'm Awake! Yes!
Oct. 14th, 2009 09:25 amOn the off-chance that THIS time the pool guy really does show up (and even if he doesn't, the pool supplies delivery is supposed to happen at some unspecified time of day) I got up when I woke, instead of trying to go back to sleep.

I'm going to buy some ebooks from http://drolleriepress.com. Now through the 17th the books are $1.99 (or less in some cases). The books range from urban romantic fantasy to modern horror with varied supernatural aspects. I prefer gentle fantasy, and have found 8 that look quite nice. The site offers excerpts of most of the books- some quite lengthy- so you can get a good idea whether you'll like it before you buy it. I read at least some of all the excerpts and they were all uniformly very well written, even the ones that didn't match my preferences.
I intend to buy Angela Kamma'ti's 'Faerie Blood', Sarah Avery's 'Atlantis Cranks Need Not Apply' and 'Closing Arguments', Meredith Holmes' 'Unseelie', Heather Parker's 'Middlewitch', Cindy Lynn Spear's 'The Chocolatier's Wife' and 'Every Word I speak' as well as Rachel de Vienne's 'Pixie Warrior'. While I have chosen works by female authors only, there are male writers as well (they seem to tend towards the horror line, which isn't my thing.)
( BBC wants me, etc. )
