I feel the need to wave
Jun. 24th, 2011 03:03 pmI've not been posting much. So, a quick ramble- I harvested my pineapple today! It's bright yellow-orange and about the size of an orange. Cute, anyway.
Washed the dining room floor some. Haven't moved everything back (need to wash dining room rug outside & need to wash & scrape carpet glue from the bit of the living room where I sliced away and yanked up part of the icky carpet and icky carpet padding (among other things the ants had been coming up by the icky pipe building sand castles under the carpet) and also I found evidence of long-term water leak in the wood molding behind where a bookcase usually stands, so I want to leave that open for a few days to observe if it's a past condition or on-going.
When the power was off, among other things I read a book on Historic Costume in Pictures (Dover has some fun reprints- this was originally published as 125 large costume plates from a German publishers between 1861 and 1890.) Beautiful etchings with the people realistically posed. Anyway, some of them have names- I loved this one: Slingsby Bethel, Sheriff of London, 1680.
I also drew a group of very weird dragons I hope to turn into a fabric design for the Spoonflower Fireworks theme (ending next Tues...) I don't think I've ever seen a killer whale dragon.
OH, yes, the results are in on the Puzzle fabric contest. My entry, Laundry Sorting, came in 25 out of 120 entries, with 210 votes. The winner had 407. I'm improving!
Ok, break over, back to the Sekrit Project.
