Ways to HEX 'Blake' (another old email)

HEX is an acronym for 'Happy Ending eXpediters', B7 fanficcers who take depressing stories and go on to redeem them into hopeful endings. *WARNING* Don't attempt to HEX anyone's stories unless they volunteer them. Don't even ask to do them. But you can play with canon HEXing all you like.
1)Ye Olde Clone bit the dust (sad, really, isn't he a person, too?)
1b) Blake's twin brother was shot & lingered for days, Avon feeling guilty, until Jenna shows up with the 'real' Blake who is furious at Avon, who wanders off aiming to get shot by the Feds. They were all set up by a psychostrategist, who pretended to be treating Blake's brother's injury, and wasn't. Everyone recovers, except the psych, who Blake has executed.
2)Servalan brainwashed Avon at Terminal & 4th season wasn't real (poor Soolin never was.)
2b) Servalan brainwashed Blake after Star One & 4th season wasn't real.
2c) Another sort-of-HEX, in that the unhappy ending is avoided altogether: The 'Jabberwocky' alternative (IIRC) -- Cally has a precognitive dream in S3 that enables them to do things differently re Terminal, Malodaar and
Gauda Prime, and ends up with all the S1-S4 crews gathered up and rolled into one and fighting the Federation.
2d) I think I recall something called 'Avon's Seven' in which Avon has the precognitive dream aboard the London & with his foreknowledge switches stuff all around. (Cally also has the dream & backs his play.) It gets interesting when they recruit Travis.
3) Jenna spent years gathering the bodies, and her alien friends 'gave their wind' in a spiritual ceremony that brought the heroes (including Gan & Cally) back to life at the expense of the aliens.
4) Jenna read the tarot & knew they were going to be in trouble, so she opted out, but kept in touch with Orac & showed up at Terminal to rescue Cally who was in the Auron-death trance & then arrived at GP to pick up
crazy Avon & wounded everyone else & nurse them back to health.
4b) Gan (only slightly flattened?) and Avon's brother rescue everyone & take them on their ship, where Avon & Blake argue & eventually reconcile.
5)Orac blackmailed Servalan into saving everyone.
6)It was all a set-up by Blake and Avon, so they'd be listed as dead. (I've read several of them, with varying degrees of angst)
7) An Avon from an Alternate Universe came back and shot himself to save Blake, and then Blake shot him (can't see why I consider this a HEX- *2* dead Avons?!) Well, it saved Blake, anyway.
7b) An Avon from the future (or with knowledge gained from fever-dream) convinces past-Avon to be a good boy, and not get everyone killed.
8) Avon and Servalan planned it together, because everyone except Vila was really an Andromedan shape-shifter. (Apparently written to justify an awful pun at the end. I can understand that.)
9)Avon, Blake and Vila were androids, so they couldn't be killed (ok, I wrote it. It was a weird idea that appealed to me.)
10) Zen regrew and came back in time to rescue everyone (again, I'm guilty as charged.)
(There are many that just assume at least Avon & Blake merely wounded)
11) Avon and/or Blake is in a coma/ mentally confused and brought back by the forgiveness/ love/ deep brotherly feelings of the other, who was gravely wounded but survived. (Too many to count).
12) Avon has his back broken and Blake through guilt/love takes care of him. (Have read at least three of these- all different & all good. Can't really call them too HEXy, though.)
13) Avon is forced to work for Blake (sometimes thinking Blake is dead & he's seeing a ghost) until Avon is trapped in collapsing base/ knifed by revenge-seeking rebel/ otherwise made terribly vulnerable, so Blake forgives him.
14) Time-lady comes back to fix the 'mistake' at G.P. and prevents it from happening.
15) Time-lady (in shape of Deva) set up GP with aid of Blake, Klyn, Fed. androids, but in confusion Avon got killed & regenerated as the Master's clone. (Yes, me, again. I'm strange. I admit it. RomanDEVAratnalunda led me to it.)
16)Servalan hired actors to film the fourth season, in order to discredit Avon with the rebels. He finds out & rescues Blake from her.
17) Blake driven insane by programming, *thinks* it all happened, and kidnaps Avon when they really do show up at rebel base. When Avon is injured & dying Blake remembers the truth in time to get him back to rebel base & save him. (Yep. Still me. Well, it's easier to remember my own stuff.)
18) Avon ducks at the critical moment and all the troopers shoot each other because they were gathered around Avon in a circle. (The others may or may not recover, but mostly they do. Except Dayna and Soolin are often expendable.)
19) Vila calls for teleport & gets them to the crashed Scorpio, where he set Avon to hooking Blake up to portable heart/lung machine. Vila then teleports up to Fed. ship & takes out entire crew using Soma Vapor & then got everyone to safety.
20) The current Liberator crew had been duplicated physically/ personality split by Orac as an experiment when the System took Liberator. One Cally rejoined with her dying self at Terminal. At GP the remaining Liberator showed up and Blake rejoined with his dying/dead self to complete his personality. The two Avons hated each other, but eventually rejoined into one sane, competent version.
21) The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy version: Use of the Infinite Improbability Drive in the vicinity causes Servalan to revert to her double-headed Beeblebrox self, a Fed ship turns into the Liberator, everyone leaps up healed and teleports up, all smiles. (That one I did *not* write.)
22) Servalan has Avon, but he's not only mentally withdrawn, but totally deaf from brain injury caused by something like a stroke. Serv. gets Blake's clone & has him brain-washed to think he's Blake, and uses implant to mentally link them so that Blake will be able to make Avon hear him & believe his story that they were rescued by neutrals & should help them. But they figure it out & escape & eventually Blake proves that he has somehow got more memories from Blake than he should.
23) Serv. had Avon & Blake & tortures each of them to get the other to cooperate. They escape, nearly die, & finally stumble across the remote-guided shuttle to Jenna's ship, with Vila & the others aboard.
24) Avon, who's the only survivor of GP hallucinates/sees Blake's ghost, who taunts him into escaping from a Federation holding cell. The apparition hangs around, starting a sexual relationship with Avon until Avon finds a safe place to hide. When the appartition is ready to leave Avon asks him to stay because any Blake is better than none.
25) Rebels come in and shoot down all the Feds. Everyone else is just stunned. Avon kisses Blake alive Sleeping Beauty style. (Was that actually a story?)
26) They are all dead, but go on to Heaven and/or Hell.
26b) Dying, Vila shoots Avon to save him from the proposed months of torture that Servalan is gloating over planning for Avon. They go before the Egyptian Judge of the Dead, and because Vila chose for both of them, they are reincarnated. Story ends with them being born as Tanith Lee's B7 Avon & Vila avatars from her novel 'Kill the Dead'.
26c) Vila and Avon are actually archetypes, the dark anti-hero and his comrade fool/thief, sent out repeatedly to somehow balance the forces of existence.
