KIIIIIILLLLLL APPPLE and other RL

The other day I spent a not so happy hour on the phone with Apple, trying to get system 9 installed on the new desktop mac so I could use some old software. After the Apple tech finally admitted the computer couldn't run 9, I insisted he live up to his promise not to charge me the $150 for the extended warranty he'd urged me to get before he'd help me put 9 on. He assured me repeatedly that the warranty had been canceled and I wouldn't be charged.

Today came the bill for the warranty $180.83. along with a CD of diagnostic software & a tiny booklet. The guy not only didn't cancel it, he didn't even tell me the right price!

I called Apple and ignored their 5 possible choices in order to get through to a woman who heard me out, looked up the records & found the guy had made NO notes about canceling the warranty. She talked to her supervisors and repeatedly assured me that the warranty has been canceled and within 1-2 billing periods, it should be credited on my card.

I am so not holding my breath. Wonder if the diagnostic CD is even any good?

Tadpoles are still alive. I gave them a sliver of steak today. Maybe they will grow up to hunt cattle.

Kitchen is still in progress. Bro has given it 2 coats & cut it in. Needs more patching & painting. It's a light daffodil yellow. Quite cheerful, I think. Must go hop up the ladder and do more patching around the skylight.

I have 2 ficathons due at the beginning of July... neither of which have I begun...mmm...patching skylight looks easier.
