I burnt my liver!

Waaah. I was looking forward to that.
I forgot today was Sunday, so after I'd done my usual chores I started making a few business phone calls while Sextus was hunting down updates & installing them. (I was surprised to discover that several co. that say Mon-Fri only *DO* have someone working on Sunday.)
First to Comcast trying to get them to issue me a new refund check for the piddling $22.68 they'd had left in my account after I switched phone service. They made it out to my father. I'd tried 3 times over a 2 month period to get them to change the account name & finally gave up when the only result was them sending me a form to sign for them to change my Comcast ISP*from* my name to my father's name. After the usual nonsense I finally got to talk to a nice Pakistani fellow who said they'd voided that check & would send out one in my name. I Hope. He started out by asking my name, which I spelled out to him, and then 20 seconds later he asked me to spell my name...*sigh*
Then I called to reply to a letter I'd got about my application for a Barnes & Nobel Mastercard (I'd got a gift certificate last year & after I used it to buy a couple books, they had me on the email list & they offered me a card, so last week I went on line & applied for it.) I've only got ONE credit card- a Visa-, and I know that you get minus points for credit score if you haven't got at least 2. They sent me a letter telling me to call them, that they needed more info. I thought possibly they were leery because I told them I have money in the bank, but am not employed, but that wasn't it. Somehow there had been a note put on the file that my birth date conflicted with official records. But the guy I spoke to today couldn't find *any* birth date on record. EH? I know I was born. So I told him my birth date & he says I'm approved & the card will be sent. Yay. Also I'll get $25 gift card first time I use it. May buy myself a birthday book or two.
Then I called another credit card company. They'd sent a renewal card for mom for a Reader's Digest mastercard. WTF? She never had *that*. I had canceled all her active cards. So I called (A nice Hindi lady) & she sent me to a guy who sounded USian who said they'll send me a form & I'll have to send back another copy of her death certificate. I mentioned maybe getting a card in my name & he said they could just change this one--- and I had visions of them mixing up my vital stats with mom and causing a whole world of aggro, so I said just cancel mom's.
Then I got my turkey ready to go in the oven. I removed the giblets, washed it, 'stuffed' it with a chopped up apple, some celery, a spoonful of onion flakes, and some baby carrots, buttered it, sprinkled it with poultry seasoning and stuck it in an oven- roasting bag & then into the pan. I set the clock for 2:15 oven at 350 F and put the giblets in a pot of water to boil.
And then I went out and pounded rotten cement to bits and FORGOT about the giblets. I smelled something burning when I was really tired but getting close to finishing. It's Sunday, I assumed a neighbor was barbecuing... finished the rocks and came in to a house full of smoke. BUGGER. Half the windows won't even open...oh well... the smoke is now clearing.
I THINK this Reverewear pot will survive, there are no bumps on the bottom, but it's gonna take a lot of scrubbing and soaking to get it clean. And I really wanted that liver. *sigh*
The turkey just came out of the oven & looks lovely. I am going to eat NOT SPAM tonight! Well, later this afternoon.
