Just got a call from the construction guy. I told him my concerns & he was rather taken aback, esp. when I told them I'd been made to pay 70% up front. He said that he *had* seen them actually do a job, which was nice to hear. Maybe they're just frickin' incompents and not crooks. Maybe.

Construction guy says he'll be by the 29th or 30th to do the one bit, turning the A/C window unit into a wall unit. He's got to talk to the Window Co. first to get the exact measurements from them. I'd asked the boss of the window co. 3 times to give this guy the measurements.

*sigh* He doesn't think the window manuf. will tell me if they've ordered anything, but he does agree they'll probably be willing to tell me if they're licenced distributors. If they did one job, maybe they are. Maybe because I'm a fat female frump, the boss thinks he doesn't have to waste time doing what he promised & can just show up and go ahead with whatever he feels like doing and I'll accept it.

Well, *IF* the window folk show up they're definitely not getting another dime until I get a release of lien for the materials- I've sure paid for them & am not going to risk losing the house because *he* doesn't pay for it.

I'm in a grumpy mood. *sigh*... I'm not suited for a complicated/confrontational life. All I want is to float in my pool with my froggies and pet penguins and then nap in my bed with my cats.

Was very tired earlier and slept until 2pm. Tommy slept on my legs and Tara on my chest, while Bonnie was on the windowsill. Tara and Tommy are very clever cuddlers, they don't hurt me, have no sharp corners, and don't cut off circulation or impede my breathing.
