Dry Paint, next day. Or maybe wet paint after I had to add more joint compound because it shrank and cracked? Yeah, could be.
Preparing to mark locations of blind mounts.
I put the mounts back in the blinds and held them at the top to mark.
First I did a couple red slash lines to indicate where the screws hit, then I put the blind down and measured the width of the blind mount in from the front edge of the window and put a couple red dots to indicate roughly where the back of the blind mount would fall. Then I took off a mount and used it to guide me drawing a black line the width of the mount. Then I used the yardstick to check that all three black marks for a blind lined up. They didn't, so there's another black line added, with red marks to show which is the right black line, and a red arrow showing the direction it can be shifted if I mess up the drilling. (you can't put the mounts where the internal braces are on the blinds- but you have to put it near them.)
Checking to make sure the screws won't extend into the concrete (the wood is the cut-off bit, so it's the same thickness as what's up there). The screw to the right was a bit too long.
Having discovered the 'Fine' Sharpie won't fit through the holes on the blind mount for exact positioning of screws. I got a pink Ultra-Fine Sharpie.
Using a screwless blind mount as a stencil, I put in the pink screw guides. Hello, there, wall face, don't cry, momma's gonna make it all better.
Pilot holes drilled in wood, mounts screwed in. As the one brace is in the center of the blind, the center mount must be off-center. Erm. yes.
DONE!
