Butter! Long-tailed and White Peacock

Long-tailed skipper came back. This shot gives you a bit of an idea of the color of the body fur. It's blue green, varying.

White peacock (I'm pretty sure- the markings are distinctive.)

I love sunlight through butterfly wings.

White peacock loves posing.
Ah, so its not just caterpillars who are hairy. :¬D

Many butterflies have hairy bodies- and quite often there is some hair on the wings, too. I didn't know that until I started snapping.

The white peacock liked to spread its wings while feeding- that is very helpful for me. :^)

Fantastic shots--I love it when their little faces show.

The skipper butterflies all seem to have huge puppydog eyes. :^)

The shapes and patterns of the peacock are elegant, most elegant!
However I love the long-tailed skipper becasue of that fur. I haven´t noticed before, yes, a furry butterfly, mrrrrrr!
Excellent pictures.

*grin* LJ is playing up funny lately. Today I'm answering comments one at a time in between chores because it takes so long for the page to load.

It's always good to hear from you! I got your postcard the other day- that is soooo neat. The fountain is wonderful by itself, by nature's crystal decorations make it even more awesome.

I am glad you have got it and like it:-)

I love butterfly bodies- they are always so cute! Many of them have beautiful markings, stripes and dots and all sorts of designs in their body fur.

Lovely to see you still have butterflies to enjoy, ours have almost finished for the year. There were only one or two in the garden when I was out and all their flowers were too high to get good pics.

Where I am it is theoretically possible to see butterflies any day of the year. I've seen them the day after a major hurricane, even.

Up until I had the lantana I seldom caught more than a glimpse of any of them, though.
