There were beautiful illustrations in 'Under Drake's Flag'

Unfortunately, of the 11, only 2 had Drake.



Oh, the clean-cut godly manliness of the boy hero... oi.


Here the bold English sailors were ransacking a Spanish settlement's treasure room (the cowardly Spaniards all having shut their windows and hidden in their homes away from the handful of magnificent seamen-- then again, after Drake's bunch had been months at sea maybe the Spaniards just couldn't stand the stink) and being ordered by Drake to leave the silver, because there will be gold and jewels more than they can carry.
