Erm... does that make any sense? the rick rolled thing was an inside joke thing. not many people know what it means. but yet alot do!

I never got 'round to posting the pics I uploaded yesterday & today I am running way late (and after culling in the zoo and in the cab and then after uploading I still have nearly 1000 zoo pics to sort through), so I decided to share what I think is my favorite photo I took at the zoo.

I've seen photos on the net of mother giraffes being affectionate with their babies... well, this is a father's love. The baby was born last Tuesday, and she's rather short for a newborn giraffe, 5foot 4 inches (only 3 inches taller than me) while her dad... man he's got to be close to 20 feet tall.

He's very handsome! A keeper was there giving info on them, and he was quite proud of the fact that most of their giraffes are pure reticulated (they have one reticulated crossed with west african, I think). Many zoos used to breed the subspecies at random, so there are a lot of them with mixed coat patterns.

Yes! I was so lucky to get that shot. I think almost everyone else had left by then and the only ones left were keepers who were busy with other things.
