Those close ups are phenomenal. That is one laid back dragon.

He basically blinked once the whole time I was looking at him.

Hey, hey, hey--step right up and get eaten here. Big lizard day.

The Komodo is huge. Even if its bite wasn't toxic, I wouldn't want it to nibble on me.

I thought it was great! A father pointed it out to his little girl and she went EEEE! And didn't quite believe him when he told her it wasn't real.

Wow, fantastic pictures! The Komodo lizard is called varan here, and I read an adventure book aboput them when I was a child but I have never seen it so close! A body of a crocodile, a head of a lizard and claws like a real predator. I read it can eat a whole wild boar with one gulp...EEEEEEEEEE!

Its mouth isn't that big, but it could definitely take a huge bite out of something! I believe the way they normally kill large prey is by biting it and letting it go. They live on islands, so the animal can't get too very far away before dying in a few days from the bacteria in the mouth of the Komodo. Sooner or later one of the Komodos finds an animal one of them has killed-- it wouldn't be an efficient technique any where else.

Ahahaha, the smile on the face of the dragon! It looks so sly. Those things are fast and dangerous. Eep.

I like the pink lips, like it's trying to pretend to be sweet.

That Komodo is loooong. Beautiful close-up shot of him and the Crocodile Lizard, too. Gorgeous. :o)

They are apparently very unlikely to LEAP, so the enclosure is fairly small and the basking rocks close to the front to encourage them to be really, really close. :^) I'd never imagined anything like the crocodile lizard. I think he's amazingly cool.
