Feral kitty I saw at the park.

I snapped Bootless just before I left for the park.

White Peacock butterfly (I'm pretty sure this is 2 different butterflies)

Dorantes Longtail skipper-- I *think* it's laying eggs

Damselfly (I think)-- I assume they are called that to go with Dragonflies... someone has a sense of humor.

Yes, it's a damselfly. The way they hold their wings at rest is the main distinguishing feature.

Thanks for the confirmation. ;^)

That's a pretty cat! He looks in very good condition, so either they feed him there or he's a domestic cat who roams. There were two cats at the Domain (city park here) whom the staff fed. I used to as well; I'd take a little can of tuna to share with them.

I don't know whether it's being fed by people (could be, there's a concession that rents bicycles nearby), but it was definitely spooked to see me. FROZE, crouched, and then ran like a bolt of lightning-- which gave me a good look at the shape. I think it's a pregnant female.

Oh no! [worries about the kittens]

However you should see Jasmin or Ashley when a stranger turns up. Jasmin especially does the terrified crouch and run, though only far enough so that she can still observe the person. I find it very reassuring that they won't allow strangers to approach or pick them up.

Judging by how good that cat is doing, if it has kits they have a good chance. I think feral cats can actually survive on bugs if they know how to hunt & are in a good hunting ground which the park is, with lots of tall thick grasses near water, etc.

I'm glad your kitties are stranger-shy. That is reassuring.

Oh beautiful feral kitty. It looks like a mini lynx, without the ear tufts. :¬D

Yes! I was thinking she looked like a wild cat, but I couldn't recall what kind. :^)

Ah, such a dangerously looking tiger!:.-) No wonder you felt threatened but she was scared too. Bootless looks like a philosopher!
Of course I like your butterflies and a damselfy.

*grin* I didn't feel threatened- I was mainly afraid she'd run before I got a good picture of her! Bootless contemplates very often- mainly when looking at places that might have mice. :^)

Bootless is holding up really well for a toothless outside cat of his age.
