feng_shui_house: me at my computer (Avon's not thrilled)

I was sent a couple DVDs via Amazon for my birthday. I already had one of the movies, so I called Amazon & asked if they had any procedure for something like that. I said I didn't think the DVD was really worth sending back, but Service Guy insisted on it. I said it would cost me more than the price of the DVD for me to cab it to UPS & I'd rather just forget it and keep it, if I had to do that. Service Guy said no problem, he'd send out a UPS guy to pick it up. I said is it really worth that? But this is the procedure.

So, ok. DVD picked up. Later, email arrives from Amazon. They subtracted the discounted postage (what the buyer didn't pay) from the cost of the DVD and refunded me the difference in the form of a gift card. Which came in a second email....

LOL Now do as they say and don't spend it all at once.

Yes, I'm thinking to use it as a down payment on a pony. :^)

My comment disappeared! Funny story, but I really think Amazon owes you--you are going to complain, aren't you?

Nah, I'm fully booked on my complaint list. I've just got 'round to watching a DVD set I bought last year that's missing a disk and I've got an unopened bag of GF flour (sell-by date 2012) with moths walking around in it, and in Jan I have to fight to get the utility pole stuff on track a year later...

Well, I guess so--still I think Amazon was rotten to do that.

Yeah, the guy I spoke to could have told me they'd subtract the postage from it, when I repeatedly asked him if this was worthwhile. Eh, life is too short to fight tiny battles. I laughed at them, that was good.

:o) Too bad Amazon doesn't have a penny-store. Although with tax, most of the things in those 99-cent stores cost more than a penny.

I recall a store selling 'penny candy'... for a dollar a stick. :^)
