feng_shui_houseI managed to get glutened again mysteriously, so I'm back to being tired, stupid, and craving meat & chocolate. *ptui*
I pushed myself to go to the bank yesterday because paying off the credit card statement (which was larger than usual because I NEVER got the previous statement- lost in the mail, I guess, and wound up with a late charge, poo) was going to put my checking account under the amount at which they charge a maintenance fee.
The bank had only 2 tellers in their cages. One was taking forever to handle one commercial customer, the other had somehow screwed up her tally by $10,000 (I have good hearing and she was loud in explaining her problem to the two other tellers she got to help HER instead of customers). So I was half an hour standing there the first customer in line before another teller opened up. She took forever (I wanted some in small denominations to pay taxi & thrift shop over the next 2 months & she had to FILL OUT FORMS and go begging to get small bills!) and THEN shortchanged me $1000 which I told her after I let her mis-count it three times to see if she'd ever realize it. Man, you have GOT to be alert in Hellholeah. Since the bank charges me a fee for cashier's checks, I get my money in cash, and don't want to wait on the sidewalk for the taxi with money on me, so I have the taxi wait. Of course, the waiting fee (40cents a minute) added up.
The bank where I put money in was incredibly efficient for once, in and out in a minute. Of course, at that stop, I don't have the taxi wait because I'm dumping the money and then going to amuse myself in the thrift shop & grocery (crappy grocery, but while I'm there, might as well). Got 5 hardback books (including a neat picture history of dragons) and a bag of shiny brown buttons that might make nice joints for tiny teddies.
Bought 4 pounds of bacon, the mysterious gluten-healing food. Well, that and chocolate work well for me. Cooked and ate one whole pound of bacon over the rest of the day. My innards are starting to heal but BOY am I ouchy.
I have to get back to digging up the weeds/grass under the front bushes. I have got the drywall almost reduced to mulch. It won't cover a large area, but will be a help. I want to get to the home supplies store in the not too distant future & buy (among other stuff) landscaping fabric to put under the front bushes. I am SICK of crawling under them to pull out the weeds that grow through and stick out to the public sidewalk.
I am still playing with the webkinz. Have bought more which I haven't adopted yet. I'm TRYING to wait until Feb. 2 because when you adopt you get a random cute thingie from a pool that's set to add 5 new thingies then. I've been buying them from an on-line giftshop halfway across the country, which I suspect palms off the less than perfect ones on mail-order customers, but that's actually great for me because the ones whose ears and eyes and legs, etc aren't set exactly according to the model standard have more personality. I've snapped two of them to show you what I mean.
Also I am TRYING to keep up my New Year's Resolution of filling out a chart with what I've done each day so at the end of a week/month I can look back & encourage myself that I didn't just lie about and inhale oxygen.
So today I noticed I've not done any art in a while & went over to Harmony to sketch.
Harmony sketch, this cat is square, man.
Bristle CountyJr. (He has bristly fur, and I loved the TV show The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. I do have fun naming them.) Bristle is adopted. He's good at hurdle-jumping and pancake cooking. (Well, anyone can cook pancakes.)
Ann Thracite (she's called a charcoal cat). She is not yet adopted, neither is Don Quixote the donkey, Charles Atlas the Clydesdale, Aurora Furealis the Arctic Fox, Gretel the Ginger Cat, and Portobello the Portuguese Water Dog.

All my webbies have fun names. When you go to the few 'public' areas (a clubhouse and a park) you can mouse over pets to see their names. It's sad how many of them have dull names- lions called 'lion', cats called 'fluffy', etc.
My other adopted ones are Cara Mia the giraffe, Jeremiah the bullfrog, Othello the pinto, Chrysoberyl the green eyed black cat, Cumulonimba the silversoft cat, Topkapi the okapi, Ferrous Bueller the iron-gray Arabian, Embarr the Nightmare, and Bronwyn the Himalayan cat.
