The LJ scrapbook is now uploading reasonably quickly for me BUT it is only allowing me to do one picture at a time. Oh, well...





The plumber put the silver tape on to make me feel comfortable during the night that it wouldn't burst into a fountain. Really, it wasn't even dripping, just slowly oozing.

I scraped three layers of vinyl tile and one of asphalt tile clear to the outside wall, just as a goodwill gesture to save the plumber five minutes work tomorrow.

I hope you reported it. I got a reply saying they'd passed the buck to the developers. Maybe if enough people complain they'll fix it.

However, beeing a housekeeper too, I really sympathise with you. Duh! really, i don´t know what your dad was thinking...
Well, plumbing and water/heating piping is bad thing to do. I hope there will be no problems to fix it there. And I am thinking of my own problem because soon we will have to change ALL the piping in our house due to a low quality material - but 30 years ago there were nothing else to get (unless you had friends in "upper places" in the Party). Now you can get everything if you have money:-) but the corruption is even more prominent because it is thriving is this lovely country... Sorry, I could,´t help complaining...

Dad came from a tradition of whacking things together any old way. Including electricity, plumbing, masonry... and mom never wanted to spend money on *us* so she encouraged him to do jobs he really had no business doing.

I suggest you start out with a few small jobs (replace a shower head or faucet, something like that) with a different plumber for each one so you get an idea which ones work well, and don't charge more than you can afford. I learned the hard way that it's a mistake to give a big job to a company without having seen a) whether they arrive when they say b) whether they do the job correctly c) whether they listen to you when you have problems with what they've done.

LJ is MEANT for complaining! COmplain more often! Complain LOUDER! We will cheer you on and hug you.

So far it's not so bad. Ehouse has been through much, much worse. This is just the cherry on the frosting on the cake.

I didn't like that floor anyway. :^)

He's still working on it, breaking out the cement and washing away the sand ATM.
