Today I am depressed. Something biochemical, I think.

Also annoyed that the new camera has a flaw -the Auto setting is useless (put an ISO of 2500 on indoor pic with flash- should have been 200 at most- so pic is grainy blurry) I didn't find out exactly what it was doing until today when I threw out nearly all the pics it took of the Sekrit Project. Fortunately sickly old camera came up with usable images. Camera forum says on the manual settings you can make it work right. Have to read up how to use them. Eventually Nikon will prob. come up with a firmware fix I can download. Somehow.

But really, that sort of thing doesn't usually drag me down. Ah. Thunder. Ok, weather can affect me that way. So bone-tired. Slept late and dragggggggeeeddddd... things to do... can't be bothered.

Wind.... sky gone dark... eeeeeerrrie feeling just above, between my eyes... twilight zone weather...

Ok, no more rambling. The Sekrit Project arrived at its destination at

blakefancier's abode yesterday, as her birthday gift. YAY.

The back.

This is a variation of the 'Picket Fence' quilt block. I don't think I've seen any done with this particular placement of light, medium and dark to achieve both the dark and light patterns. I call it 'Dark Stars and Solar Winds'.

Also, I don't think I've seen any where the patches were sewn together to make the binding. I got carried away with cutting and I thought it would be interesting to use them that way. I quite like the effect. I put two similar darks together and two similar lights together all the way around, so the effect is at least somewhat planned.

For a 'scrap' quilt, there was a lot of deliberation in this, starting with sorting the fabrics into darks, lights and medium tones by viewing them though red plastic (that cuts out the distraction of color, and allows you to judge relative light and dark.)
