woke up hungry as a spring bear...

Had a whole can of tuna w mayo on GF crackers which gave me strength to google the eyedrops Zymaxid, I'm using. Sideeffects include increased sensitivity to light, pain &/or discomfort around the eye and headache, so I guess that explains my reaction- hope I don't have to take it any longer after today. If doctor tells me I need to continue with antibiotic on Monday, I'll ask if there's something else I can try. The headache is less now, but still all I wanna do is sleep. I'm only up now because I'm staying awake long enough to do the next dose of eyedrop. The side-effects aren't as bad as the risk of infection & I only have 2 more doses to go today anyway.

Well, I called the doc & left a message, maybe I'll get a return call. Got half an hour before I was going to do the next drop. If they don't call back by then, I guess they don't think it's an emergency.

The on call doctor woke me up, returning my call about 2 1/2 hours later (not the doctor I'd seen on Sat). She was sure the drops couldn't possibly be the cause, and I should just take some Tylenol.

I get the feeling she never admits things can have side-effects, but at any rate, the headache and pain had eased a lot after I slept, so it's getting better. One more drop now and then I'm off to try to sleep some more. Have slept as much as a cat today. :^)

Yes, sometimes the side-effects are worse than the problem itself.

Thank you! I'm pretty good- a bit fuzzy, but nearly back to normal (it's not as if I had perfect vision to start).

I've been to the doctor and everything looks well on the way to healing, have a new medical routine to follow and in a month go back for a checkup. Maybe I'll let him try again to get me contact lenses- last time was back in... 2006? They might be able to do what I need now- I mainly want to be able to see to do hand-work & computer stuff without SQUINTING. :^)
