Pet Portrait contest, meh, Facebook.

I entered a pet portrait contest at Dick Blick (artist supply site), because I had a nice painting I'd done years ago of Thomas, but after I photographed the painting & did all the preliminary stuff, I discovered voting is by Facebook. Meh, I haven't got a Facebook & even if I did, I've seen how easily Facebook contests are rigged even if you don't have tons of friends who will vote for you (there are *communities* devoted to vote trading).
I entered anyway, after checking that I don't give up copyright/ownership in case I can figure out a way to use it on Spoonflower.
Anyway, voting starts on May 23, 2016.
You can see the entry here.

Date: 2016-05-12 02:13 pm (UTC)Every month they'd have a contest, and nearly every month the SAME person won, with designs that were either very poor or direct copies of commercial designs. It became so obvious that no one else stood a chance that towards the end only one or two other people even tried. Last I heard, the company had stopped running the contests.
