Let there be CAKE.

Eventually. I hope.
Oh, yeah, laundry. Did that, too.
Today I did not water, because it looked like it was going to rain- hasn't done more than sprinkle, but maybe it will tonight. So instead I painted the frame inside and out, of the front door. And FORGOT, as I always do, that you should remove masking tape while the paint is still wet. Oh, well, touch ups worked.
And I cleaned out the pool filters- pretty sure I've added so much chemicals that no frogs or mosquitoes can exist in the water. I wouldn't recommend a human swim in it, either. My skin itches after I clean out the filters. :^) The walls and bottom are olive green, but the water itself is fairly clear.
Remembered to do backups to external drive. I'm still not doing it frequently enough, last time was Feb. 6. I'm averaging about once a month. So much to do, and only one me.
While backing up I've been hand-sewing on the Apple Dog. He's starting to come together.
And then I remembered I was going to make cake! Been going to make cake for some months, with the box sitting on the counter- went to look at it and realized it's complicated cake. Two layers, creme filling, and chocolate glaze. That's what I know as 'Boston Cream Pie' (I don't know if Boston had anything to do with it, and the filling doesn't use cream, and it's not a pie, but still...)
It's Duncan Hines, so I have hope it's really gluten free. Betty Crocker kinda let me down with her promised GF, but maybe Duncan is better- after all, Duncan Hines was a real person, while Betty Crocker was a made up name to sign replies to customer cooking questions.
CAKE is beeping! Time to turn it out onto racks to finish cooling.
WOW. I'm getting down to the last bits of fluff so I opened the new box of 10 pounds of Polyfill that I'd got at Walmart. I do recall reading that it expands, but BOY HOWDY. They had it taped shut with fiber strengthened tape, and in a strong plastic bag with a lot of excess bag twisted around and held with a wire twist tie. I undid everything and it started moving, like a sleeping lion waking. I left the room and came back and there's this CLOUD of fluff. The box is 20 inches high. There's 17 inches of fluff sticking out. The 'excess' bag is going to be barely enough. I see a lot of stuffed critters in my future.
OMG, I have to wait ten more minutes before I can try eating my cake! EEEE EEEE EEEEE!!!

Date: 2017-03-04 12:22 am (UTC)Only now I'm thinking about Parker House rolls...oh, wow. So delicious. MMMM...
I don't get earworms so much as I get tastebud worms. I'll be imagining the taste of rolls for an hour. :^)
