OMG the Amazon/UPS never ends

The UPS man knocks on my door and tells me he's here for a pickup.
He's got THREE labels, and neither of us know which label(s) belongs on which package. Amazon said send them back in the original packaging, 2 items in the one box and 1 item in the padded envelope, the UPS driver will KNOW which label goes with which box.
Everything is the same on each label EXCEPT the reference tracking number which Amazon never gave me (I got an email saying 'use this reference tracking number' but there was no number.)
The last I heard from Amazon, on Saturday, 'keep it, or throw it away, or donate it', but now he shows up. I ask him if I can keep the labels to tell Amazon the reference numbers, but no, he says I must have the reference numbers from Amazon, he has to keep the labels.
THEN he flips over the labels and there are TWO Lines with dates on them, which he says were attempted deliveries when I wasn't home! I've been HOME listening at the door since WEDNESDAY, even waking up at night if I thought I heard a sound. I had told Amazon to make a note that I do NOT own a car, and that I would be home, don't think because you don't see a car that I'm not home. He said he's been on vacation, because he knows I'm always home and quickly answer the door.
So I kept the packages. This is such a mess, I don't trust any of this.

Date: 2017-11-07 03:36 pm (UTC)After the usual go 'round where what I clearly type is ignored: I.E.:
'I did NOT return the items because Amazon told me not to'
'So, you returned the products?'
I was told ignore any email asked for returns.
And then I had to insist TWICE that they cancel the UPS pickup. Because, you know, they FORGOT in the two seconds between me asking and them typing back about how was there anything else they could do?
Yes, how about you do what I asked you to do at the beginning of this conversation? Hmm??
I don't get it- these people have all been polite and patient and completely fluent in English- heck they hardly ever even make typos, but they seem to have their minds made up ahead of time what you want, and it's hard to get them to see what you really type.
Oh, and AFTER I had to kick start AFTER they had wanted to end the convo, then I was given a $5 'gift'. So if I hadn't pushed to get the UPS pickup canceled they wouldn't have even done that... so that's $1 per LiveChat session (more than 2 hours real time)...
