A bit achy today & tired, so I started something light---clearing off /in front of the 'hope chest'. So far I found 6 pair of eyeglasses - all new, from EyeBuy Direct- I don't know which are prescription and which are plain glass- I bought some plain glass because the eye Dr I went to didn't have any frames that suit my face (the narrow, cat-eye, type seemed to be all they had) so I ordered nice frames over the internet- and had the eye Dr put in the prescription-- mostly this was a disaster, I got home and found the lens fall out because the person setting them in cracked the frame and spread it so even if I glued the crack, the lens was too big for the frame. Of the ones I had EyeBuy Direct put in the prescription- the prescription was right, BUT the frame mold was bowed- put the glasses face down on the table and the ends were half an inch above the surface- impossible to use, instant headache. I'd complained and they sent me a new pair EXACTLY the same. I complained again and this time chose a different frame. And you know, by that time I'd gone back to using my old glasses for general all around computer monitor and walking around distance viewing. So the prescription is slightly off- close ENOUGH.

BUT now I found that one of the (unmarked) glasses are perfectly good reading glasses. BOOKS, I can go back to books.

Ah! Found my Unicorn quester's certificate. :^)

Also found a LOT, like a LOT (I filled up to overflowing one of the refrigerator bins I unearthed yesterday) of crayons, colored markers, pens, color pencils, erasers, water color, sketchpads, small samples of wood flooring and 3 etching tools (I'd drawn on them in black Sharpie, then etched into them to show the light color under the wood veneer- mostly I made wild cats designs. I wound up with a whole collection of them. I put the box full of completed ones into the guest/box/tool/library - have space on a shelf since I got rid of a box of Arabian Horse catalogs.

I HOPE I have this link right. It should show the collection.

My favorite is the Maple Jaguar.

I haven't been doing any designing lately. Maybe I'll make a rescaled version of the Jaguar.

I have got it down so far that if I move 3 more armloads of STUFF off I can LOOK in the box. What's in the Box? WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Ok. This is in the box. Animal print heavy weight fabrics and plush- pony spots, cow spots, zebra stripes, velour in teddy bear gold, lots of shaggy fur, and a gorgeous soft leopard plush. It's got a few inches air space at the top because I used some of it a few years ago to make double sided throws as Christmas gifts- minky with my Spoonflower designs on one side, plush on the other. Can't really do that with most of this because it would wind up too big to fit into even the largest flat rate priority (the only kind of packaging the USPS will pick up at my home once i pay on line.

And then I found a box of assorted cables... I have no idea what most of them were FOR. A few I recognize as far too old to be any use (coiled handset wire for a landline phone?), and some say Comcast on them, so maybe would work if I had to change things, but the rest are ?? so I just put them back in the box & stuck it high on a shelf to forget about it.

As I was putting things back, I congratulated myself that nothing had been lost against the wall behind the box. Of course, right then I dropped a colored Sharpie pen. After I moved everything off to move the box I found not only the pen, but a DVD flat against the wall, shiny side out. I got it out and discovered it was an old game... Butt-Ugly Martians. Based on a TV show I never knew existed. Mac computers no longer have a DVD player (I have a gadget that hooks up to the computer so I can play movies on it.) I doubt any DVD games will work (especially ones made in 2002 so many Mac Systems back), but I'm glad I found it, because I STILL have the empty jewel case and now I can complete the set when I throw it out.

I'd found some small plastic laundry baskets in another room when I'd shifted stuff in there- sorted the art supplies into them (this is only the OVERFLOW art supplies, of course. I have a lot on shelves (repurposed from the top of a china cabinet I took apart) in another room. OH! I just found more art supplies on top of a shelf full of cross-stitch books. I need to DO MORE ART.

I'd forgot I bought a tie-dye kit, with 26 colors. AND a metal stamping kit to emboss I don't even know what I was thinking.. leather? Maybe? I do have leather. Lots of leather. I used to go to the thrift store fairly often and buy leather skirts & trousers to cut up for teddy bear clothes etc (much much cheaper than buying leather for crafting.) I also made yard gauntlets by cutting the legs from a pair of trousers. I wear them over cloth gloves when I'm cutting bougainvillea, those thorny prickles are wicked.

So sleeppppy...didn't finish sorting everything I moved, but I did dump enough to fill up the kitchen trash to add to the two big bags of cuttings to go out tonight for tomorrow's pickup. I am really really grateful that we have twice a week trash pickup. I think the city got confused a lot of years back when they were having each week one day for trash and one day for recycling. When they changed it to give us a good size lidded bin picked up once every 2 weeks for recycling I think the previous recycle day wound up another trash day. It's very helpful when I'm doing a lot of chucking out of stuff.

Wound up having to nap around 3:30 and slept for at least 3 hours. Didn't do much today. Some days are like that, Section Leader (Blake's 7 quotes are stuck in my brain forever).

I'm down to only a few recent pics- maybe tomorrow I'll use the closeups of the Easter bunnies.

For today, here's a tree snail on a stump. NOM NOM NOM.
