Finished the oven mitts last night.
Remembered a book in the Guest/box/tool/library 'Everything You Need to Know about Medical Tests'- written in 1996 it's a laymans guide to the basics. What happens before, during and after the tests, and what the tests are for. The only thing I heard about my Dr appt next week (Valentine's day) was that it was a 'consult for endoscopy'. I looked under endoscopy and the only remotely applicable condition was what I'd suspected was the cause of my OW, Hospital visit at Christmas. They didn't test for that because they assumed it was something else which did show up in the blood work. I'm sure they were right about that- they just didn't go the extra step of going beyond 'you say the pain is HERE? that's not where it should be for THIS' and think 'oh, wait, BUT pain THERE could mean you ALSO have X, let's check for X'. Which would have been a lot simpler while I was already in the hospital.
Oh, well... so I'm guessing the appt is to discuss this test & determine if I should have it done & if so, schedule it.
So I'm mentally lining up questions & will see if the on-line My Chart at Mt. Sinai will let me send questions in text. Still haven't done even THAT.
Also while in one of the other rooms for storing stuff I noticed the BIG box containing the tile cutting machine 'wet saw' (it was a PITA, I had to use it in the backyard to get the water, and have a heavy weight extension cord being really careful not to get THAT wet) I bought ages ago when I redid the floor in the back room (after the plumber fubared it replacing main plumbing). That was not a good thing to do even when I was younger, the work was so physically stressful I wound up with a retinal pull (not a detachment, thank heaven, it got better without treatment) which was scary when suddenly I couldn't focus At ALL with one eye, lightning flashes, etc.
So, I think I'll add that box to my 'put out ahead of monthly bulk pick up' group I've begun. I bet someone would happily take it. The more stuff I sort, the more stuff APPEARS. There is MORE floor in the house! More AIR. It's amazing.
Trying to get energy to push Max around the pool. The water level has dropped too far to make SCUM-E a safe option.
Avoiding Max I went back into the sewing room and found MORE rolled up old paper and a bunch of containers, many of them nested so one big tin, one middle size tin, one small tin (not counting the one group that actually was a set). 1991 collectible Oreo cookie tin, etc. Dumped only a few containers, repurposed a DVD stack cylinder (upside down) to hold Sharpie colored markers (the latest set, I have so many)... every day something else to throw out or replace something that I DO throw out, or at least remind myself it exists so I do NOT buy ANOTHER.
checked BP- 120/69 Better? Yes?
Made 8 recolored designs and put them on SF. So sleeeppppy....
Gave up and shlepped Max around the pool. He picked up a lot of white muck (residue from the dry pool shock I use since the pool equipment's been broken for years).
6pm already? Ok, time to upload and clean up pics...
Here's one of the four oven mitts. They're all very similar.

And for Vera-- I didn't get all THREE, but here's a black and a gray tomcat, chillaxing and being very mellow.

Those cats are gorgeous! They look well fed, so maybe they're someone's pets?

Date: 2025-02-09 01:37 pm (UTC)I'm trying to get in the habit of at least walking in the sewing room once a day and considering what I could work on. I keep finding more interesting stuff- just yesterday I found autumn themed (leaves and fruit etc) appliqués I'd made with iron on backing- but what I meant them for is lost in past memory. :^)
I think the cats are all part of a neighborhood colony that was being fed by people next door- they're renters, so I guess when one person moves out they pass the cat feeding responsibility to someone else. The cats like my yard and come over to relax.

Oh dear, the medical stuff is so terrible. What I myself believe is that everyone is just individual with unique setting of organism. Even the pressure - the same data might kill someone, for another one it is normall... oh yes. *Sigh* Just stay safe and don´t overdo anything!
