Woke up much earlier than usual. Decided to wash the rug in the dining room. Pulled the chairs away, swept it with the broom, then lost interest.
Checked my email & saw the Office of Elections told me I needed to renew my request for vote by mail ballots. Went to the browser that'll work for that, & after I did that I decided to check the My Chart hospital thing to see if I could ask questions of the Dr using the messaging. Nope. BUT it said I have an outstanding bill of $6,369.00 from my December stay in the hospital! I thought it was all PAID. They never phoned me, emailed me, or sent me physical mail. AND this bill was not even showing on the My Chart the last I looked some weeks ago.
I decided to cancel the Dr. appt. Theoretically I could do it on line, but I phoned instead to make sure a human being got the message. The appointment was for a *consult* about endoscopy. So that meant, I'd pay for transport to pay to TALK to him, to make another appointment to come back and have this test, to pay for that, and depending on the test results, maybe he'd say I need a procedure, which again more money. And NO hint as to cost. (A quick google gave scary 4 figure numbers as possible.)
You know? If he'd shown up for the days I was in the hospital, ok, then I'd have been THERE with no added transportation costs. And I was already not eating or drinking so they could have done the test right away.
When I complained the person I spoke to gave me the phone number for the hospital billing, so at least I could complain about them letting me think for over a month that I'd paid in full. But the office isn't open yet. So maybe I'll wash the rug first, get something done.
(Just saw my USPS informed delivery says I've got a letter from the hospital coming. Is this the BILL? Maybe I'll wait for the mail to see what options there are.)
I'm pretty sure if I have anything, it's diverticulitis, which is common at my age especially for fat people who don't exercise enough or eat high fiber diets (hard to avoid gluten in high fiber stuff, it's either naturally there or deliberately added). Diverticulitis quite often doesn't require treatment, just self-maintenance.

This page from the Mayo clinic describes things you can do to help prevent this (or at least manage it so there aren't bothersome symptoms). I've been doing the things on the list already since Dec. I THINK I've lost some fat- my weight is about the same, but my trousers are looser.

Ok, look for high fiber food here.

It's 6pm. I kept checking for the mail every few hours. It finally came. The letter from the hospital? They were bragging about being a non-profit and asking me for a DONATION. Nothing about the BILL. The only way I knew about the outstanding amount was by accidentally looking at the My Chart website.
I spent the whole day being too annoyed and too tired to do anything (I did clean the rug, that was about it). Maybe tomorrow I'll just give up and pay the bill (they can call THAT a donation), and be glad I found out about before I went to the Dr. appointment and got committed to more Unknown amounts of money.

I am fighting with runny nose in the liquid stage and lots of sneezing...heaps of paper tissues, this is one of the best inventions. Litres of herbal tea too. I dread the night, it is always bad to try and sleep with the nose stuffed AND runny...
Fortunately no temperature, so it will be three liquid days as usual and then it will solidify. I have to buy at leasta five more big packs of tissues!
