Once again annoyed during my shower because the tub stopper would not pull up. It could either be screwed all the way down, or unscrewed and taken out. I took it out afterward and went to the Guest/box/tool/library of libraries and inspected the stopper.

There are apparently 7 common types of bathtub drain stoppers- mine is a 'lift and turn' (the site I found describing them has a VERY ANNOYING big ad stuck at the top and you have to scroll content beneath to read. I used the Amazon report this ad AFTER I had enlarged the web page far enough to FIND the X out and report.) So I won't link to it.

This page isn't annoying.

It shows a stopper similar to mine- which has the old style brass post (probably a good thing because stronger than plastic). I stuck a really thin rattail file in, poked into what space I could and got out tiny bits of old soap mostly and after more poking and prodding got the post to move. I like to move it, move it! (dances like happy lemur). So, that was like a 2 minute fix. I FEEL ACCOMPLISHED. Good Marian, have a cookie.

Finished one tote- took it outside for photos.

Went back out and dug up/cut back asparagus fern growing in from next door & then cut back more bougainvillea to add another bag to today's trash pick up.

Lucky I had the camera with me- saw a cat come in the yard and POUNCE. Camera is slow and wonky but I THINK I got a photo of the cat with a lizard in its mouth. This is the same brown tabby I saw running away with a lizard in its mouth a few days ago. It is an experienced hunter.

Ran New Max around the pool and got really sleepy- rainy/threatening rainy days really knock me out.

ZZZZz... wow. I did a little sewing, then the sewing stool got wobbly (it was my mother's from the 1940's -a few years ago it collapsed under me, and when I took it apart I discovered that the top, bottom and legs were all solid wood, with the hinge metal- but the SIDES were cardboard! Amazing that it held up as long as it did. So I disassembled it further and sawed wood scraps and drilled etc to make new sides, and then I recovered the whole thing with a nice heavy tapestry fabric from one of my thrift shop grab bags). Today I had to tighten screws underneath and that meant taking out the stuff in it (it's a flip top with compartment & the contents are again old stuff that I mostly forgot was there, including some spools of thread so old they were brittle & I tossed them away. I did keep a few really old ones, because the spools were wooden. Made me think of how manufacturers cheat us by keeping the price the same, but reducing the amount you get but making the packaging look the same- and then later raising the price. Spools of thread get thicker cores, packages of binding get thicker cardboard, packages of food get MORE AIR, liquid products get SLIGHTLY slimmer containers with the lesser amount in tiny tiny tiny print ... I'd rather they be honest and raise the price while keeping the same amount of product.

Zigzagging is slow and I'm clumsy, but I did get one tote done- I made them all two sided to use up the matching motifs. The one I'm trying to do today is not going to be as good- the fabric is a bit stretchy, not a good choice for applique. They're all a lot smaller than the totes that started out as t-shirts.

I was really surprised I got one good pic- the cat wasn't close and it was moving fast and my old camera takes a couple seconds to stop JITTErING. I only got 3 tries, the first was a blur I threw out, the second showed more of the cat but wasn't really sharp, and this cut close worked.

Getting the stopper reads like an adventure:-). And is there anything from the crafts that you can“t do? I am impressed by your skillful handling that stool you repaired/restored!
Cuuuute Three Wise Men and musical angels!!! Lovely lovely!
Ah, you were fast enough to take the photo...poor little lizard but then cats ARE hunters, so it is natural.
Bon apetit!:-)
