Happy Holidays and Rambly Thots

Mercutin on DW posits a need for English equivalents of two German words for improvements that make things worse, and repairing something to the point it breaks.
I thought I had once seen a word or phrase computer folk use to describe a program that's been upgraded to the point of losing useful features, but I can't find it.
So I think I'll coin new words. 'Updegrade' springs to mind as in 'LJ is updegrade without a paddle'.
And for 'fixing' something that wasn't broken until after you fixed it : 'deathtweak'.
In fabric rambles
A few days ago I got the last of the fabric tests I'd ordered from Spoonflower. The watercolor butterfly & watercolor autumn woods on silk fat quarters turned out *gorgeous* (a bit of hemming & they'll be nice little scarves/cravats to tuck into a coat collar). The Phoenix on upholstery type fabric (I want to make a large pillow) in two scales- one as large as I could expand the file and the other small enough to make a multi-repeat, also turned out fantastic. Shall have to get sewing once I finish with the backroom floor. The Color Zoo baby book was a bit disappointing because the blue/indigo/violet which were all chosen from Spoonflowers 'safe' colors all turned into very nearly the same dark blue. Oh, well... I'll still sew it up as an example, when I photograph it I can't show all the pages anyway so I'll just avoid those. I went back and edited the file using colors that DID work out well from the rainbow edging I put on it, so any future printings should be fine.
My eye is still a bit glittery/floaty, so am continuing the yoga moratorium, but will resume the floor work on Monday. Am going to take it v. v. slow.
