Postal Orifice Black Hole
Nov. 3rd, 2007 05:30 pmThe rules seem to have changed to make it impossible for me to do what I want to do, but it's taken ages for me to wade through their idiot website to find out that 'no, you can't get there from here'.
The rate I want to send some international stuff isn't in the rate allowed to ask for a pickup, *but* you can ask for a pickup if you have even *one* item in the rates allowed and they'll pick up the non-allowed stuff at the same time.
That sounded encouraging because I have a domestic package that would go within that rate and I *deliberately* bought large denomination stamps a while back so I could post packages from home.
Then I found that you *can't* use postage stamps on the pickup items if they're over 13 oz.
But it said you *can* use on-line 'click n ship' to print out postage & pay by credit card and that would be allowed on a package to pick up.
Fine, I thought, and hoped the software I'd need to download would work. Then I read further and found out that the click n ship postage can't be used on the rate I want to send the stuff.
*sigh* Oh, well... I'll gather together packages & make a postal run by taxi then. I'll go to a PO in a shopping center I like & that way get a bit of shopping fun for my taxi money.
