The permit got turned down again because... they want to see the 'scope of work' as in SHOW US the Contract, which includes all the things you didn't ask for permits for. So... the pool guy is going to go to the Building Dept today and go all, 'Oh, wow, man, someone at the office fouled up and forgot to apply for the plumbing and wiring and etc. permits, we'll get right on that'.

I said, 'Does this mean I have to pay more, because now you'll be doing more stuff than we agreed to?" and he said, 'No, Marian, I wouldn't do that to you. You're a very good customer, anyone else would be throwing their hands up in the air by now and giving up. That's why I'll go the extra mile for you.'

*sigh* Oh, well... the tadpoles get to live a little longer, and maybe make froghood before the pool gets sucked dry again. Shall post some cheerful bird photos from the park later. I haven't even had my tea yet when pool guy called. Think I will spend the day stripping the books from my bedroom in preparation for painting it.

Bookcase of Memories

Clearing the top shelf in my bedroom I came across a heavy, but slender, parcel wrapped in 1977 newspaper... I'd forgot I'd done some etchings in Community college and still have the plates. They're not very good, but can I get rid of them? ***probably not***

The end of a useful era.

the_lj_herald has announced that there will be no more updates. *sniffle* That person (maybe with a friend helping on occasion) kept tabs on all the LJ official communities and sifted out the important stuff and kept us informed of things we'd never know.
