It's raining, YAY.
Oct. 24th, 2009 10:58 amGot up at 8 and started laundry & drilled holes in base of vanity to shove bamboo in to further strengthen it. Varnished it inside and out (now wait til 4pm to give another coat). Took 15 minutes to get lid off can. Finally took 2 pair of pliers to get it up high enough to hammer a wedge into the crack. *sheesh* NOTE: Always remember to wipe the groove in paint can clean before replacing lid. Found big coffee can full of assorted craft wood bits, including buncha knobs. Varnished one. Found metal door strips & carpet strips. Poss. use these to frame top and door on vanity. Have not found any hinges, but did find black wire spine from old notebook... may use that.
Started a pot of chicken boiling. Need MEAT. Mmmeeeeeeeeeat. Body is doing good today. Have lost the 3 pound gluten bloat and feet are lean and lovely. *kiss kiss*
Should brush & vacc pool, but think I will spread lawnfood first. I like to feed it at least 3 times a year to compensate for having no watering system & spreading it on rainy days is best.
EDIT: Fed the lawn & decided to feed the weeds at the verge too, to use up the last of the food in the spreader. That brought me to the pile 'o logs & I remembered this Monday coming is bulk pick-up, so I dragged them out away from the stop sign and neatenized (that's a family word) the heap to make it obvious I want them to pick it up. Saw several creature heads in the way the light/shadows formed on the wood, so took a few snaps. Went to the pool and skimmed up some debris from the bottom, but it started to rain again so I came in and turned off the chicken and cut up some old Dove wrappers into giraffes.
EDIT 2: 5pm. I had only meant to pick out some leaf debris, brush and vacc the pool, but when I went to clear out the leaf-skimmer basket (in the corner of the pool) a long-dead lizard got sucked into the line before I could get the basket clear. So I stopped the machinery and cleaned out the filter basket (in the pumphouse) and while I was at it, I took apart the huge fiber filter and hosed that clean, too.) So by the time I got everything done, I was too tired to swim. Shall go varnish the vanity once more and that's the last of the big stuff I'll do tonight. *sigh* I always have more stuff to do than time/energy.
