LJ is being very slow (and full of error messages) for me today. Is it just me? I was having a lot of problems with my mac.com email last night, so I'm not sure if it's my ISP at fault. But LJ's recent massive overhaul of site coding makes them seem likely villains as well.
I had thought that LJ's change to show the raw content when you messed up the coding on an lj user name would be a good thing, because then you could still see who was meant. I didn't realize that LJ would show *ALL* the raw coding in the message following *any*mistake in coding. (All they mentioned on the LJ release was 'errors in user name coding).
Alg's journal post today is an example. She put a href twice before one thing, and everything after it, including perfectly good coding, showed up as code (alg may correct it before you see it, but take my word for it, this mucks up a post with multiple links, italics, bolding, block quote, etc. to the point of near unreadability)

Since LJ also played with log out coding I am afraid to switch from Avon for fear of something going wrong & being unable to log in at all, so am putting this post up as alt & won't be able to make any typo corrections.

Date: 2007-03-02 06:30 pm (UTC)So far it's errored setting up this alt page (several times), commenting on other journals (lots of times) and opening pages (dead slow and probably timing out because it can't find something).
