ORmAC IV, Ruby Begonia was a faithful fan-friend since January of 2001. She got me on the Internet, joined the adult B7 mailing list with me, helped me make up my website, played with photoshop endlessly (she almost never crashed when I was fiddling with Avon), stayed up til all hours RPGing with me, wrote hundreds of fics with me, and in every way was loyal, supportive and as loving as a computer could be. Oh, we had our little disagreements, but we always found workable compromises, and remained friends up to the end. Weak, graying, and crying in pain, she still managed to stay viable long enough for me to collate 450MB of emails saved over the years, including many wonderful moments from the mailing list.
I shall miss her sweet red smile, and her rosy cheeks, and her dulcet chimes as she woke to brighten each day.
In lieu of flowers, please do a kindness for your computer. Clear out rubbish files, run diagnostics, antispyware checks, or anything else that will bring a smile to Ruby Begonia's little face as she goes to the Great Diode in the Sky. If you have any happy memories of things she's done, please comment here.
