My thoughts exactly and that takes care of the brownish colour of the wires, they are some exotic and very expensive alien metal. I think it would have been called a pareur(phonetic spelling) by my Gran, one of those enormous Edwardian ones combination choker and bib.

Mm... the Celts used interwoven art a lot, and I think quite often it was meant in a religious way (either something about perfection or interconnectedness, I guess.)

Definitely if I become the founder of an alien church, I'm going to decorate the place elaborately.
