And a roofing company I'd called a couple years ago just now called me up out of the blue, sounding hungry for work. NOW they say they do structural work, not just the top roof stuff (when I talked to them before they didn't want to bother). 2 years without hurricanes has made them eager to please. Hopefully, they'll be able to fix ehouse. Current quote for just the roof is $11,400, but who knows what it'll be with the structural addition. The guy wanted to know if I was living here, because if they do the work now, things are likely to get ruined by rain.

Maybe it won't rain. Eh, we'll see. They *say* they're coming by in an hour to check the house. *FINGERS CROSSED*

EDIT: They came by briefly but said they'd need to have their carpenter come up tomorrow to look in the attic. They can't see any damage from the outside, so they don't know what it needs. They also say they do windows! EEEE! I hope, I hope. They're going to give me a complete quote, broken down, for the whole thing (structural repair to the attic, reroofing everything and putting in new windows.) If it's anywhere within reason, I'm going to go for it. It would be so fantastic to get 3 big things off my to-do list.

Another EDIT: Yay, my leg pillow arrived. Now I can sleep with elevated pods. This must be my lucky day.

We have so much rain here, people build houses and reroof them in it; they just use huge tarps.

I'll look at the vid when I get home; sounds excellent.

It was quite impressive! The soundtrack is something called 'Mona Lisa Overdrive'. :^)

It was indeed. I've seen a car done but this was a lot better.

If you search on 'speed drawing' you'll get a lot of vids. Most of them are prime examples of Sturgeon's Law, however.

They said they'd use tarps, but couldn't guarantee there wouldn't be water damage if it rained before they were done. I think basically they just don't want to hear me scream that I wasn't warned if there are any problems.
