It seems to me to be a merger of human and feline. I was just scribbling for relaxation with no particular aim.

I lucked out on the eyes after several tries, when instead of putting a highlight on top of them, I dragged in a bit of lighter color and let it do its own shading. That technique seems to give it more depth.
