The first pool guy showed up & gave me an off-the-cuff guestimate... eeee... I told him I was considering getting a couple truckloads of dirt and making it a vegetable garden.
I've no idea what getting it filled with topsoil would cost-- probably quite a bit-- for one thing, the soil would have to be hauled by wheelbarrow loads from the front yard to the back.
The pool guy thought a pool (especially a much larger than average size one like mine) adds $100,000 in value to the house, but then he would say that, wouldn't he?
The people in Hialeah are not veggie-growers. They're big on cementing front yards for parking and using the back yard for parties.
