Your birds are going to miss your pool when it's fixed, you'll have to build them a little shallow one of their own then. That is a brave, or suicidal mocking bird.

I wouldn't dare build them a shallow pond- the cats would stalk it. Mockingbirds are very, very brave. They try to chase off everything that could possibly hurt their babies. The cats mainly ignore them.

When I eventually put it together I have a bird feeding station that has a shallow bowl about 4 ft off the ground that can be filled with water. That gave me an idea for a bird pool out of cat reach. You gould make another flying pig feeder but this time drill a series of holes in it's side about 2 inches above the belly so any excess water would drain away and hang that in the treeas a bird bath

Mmm... I *think* birds like a birdbath in the sun. I noticed that they don't seem to want to bathe in the shade. I don't think I want one more item to keep clean of mosquito larvae, too. :^)

Mosies and their larva are things I don't have to worry about, the birds will find somewhere else to bathe or stick to dust baths.

If you have a birdbath here you really need to watch it. Fortunately for me, the pool is so full of tadpoles I can't imagine a mosquito larvae making it to adulthood.

I LOVE that grackle! What a picture. And the doves loving Bernard are wonderful. We have mockers for the first time this year--they spend half their time dive-bombing the cats next door.

The grackles are such fun! I bet they'd make good pets-- if you didn't mind noise. I took a LOT of photos of the doves that day. I'd been working in the yard so long they forgot I was there, so I was able to get some nice flight photos.

I hope you can keep your mockingbirds, when they're not chasing everyone off, they sing so sweet.

Those birds just own Bernard, don't they? Poor kitty can't even groom without a critic ;)

Bernard is a Party Animal!

I love the way the cat totally ignored the bird.

LOVE...

I love shots of birds bathing in the sunlight. It's usually over so quick I miss snapping.

The first picture reminds me very strongly of two gossiping women: Pssst, have you heard that.....
I LOVE Bernard with the collar doves, I love these amazingly dynamic pictures!!!

The first picture is definitely of a mated pair, they nuzzled each other and cooed. It was very sweet.

The doves are all over Bernard for seeds and water every day, but usually I can't get a picture because they fly away when I go outside, but that day I'd been working off to the side for so long they forgot about me.
