At 4pm I called Pool Guy & very sweetly asked had something changed, was other guy not coming? Pool guy returned my call 15 min. later. Other guy just finished a job & called Pool Guy to ask if he should come to my place. No, it's too late, we'll get a fresh start in the morning.

Yes. Sure. Really? So... maybe tomorrow at 9am they will start. I am tired & am going for a nap.

I filled in with tile adhesive all the spaces too large for grout. Some of the tiles are still 'talking' when walked on, so they need at least 1 more day before I grout.

Power went out twice (for a couple minutes, and then about half an hour)- I called to report it the second time & the auto-service gave me the option at the end to have them phone me back with updates. Must remember to say NO in future. They called me back twice after the power was restored. An hour later to confirm I had power, and then another hour later without any message at all. Both times of course I stopped what I was doing & ran to the phone expecting Pool Guy. And then the bill collector for one or the other of the two people who keep getting credit card offers at my house called. I don't know how to block a caller (doesn't really matter- these people have MANY numbers) but at least my Caller ID tells me when it's a Privacy Director call (which nearly always means unsolicited business)

Used up the last 3 wire shelves to make a third tomato cage (my new wire cutters are great- I don't know whether it's got gears or levers or springs or magic, but it multiples my strength a lot). Moved the potted plants back from the edge of the pool, clipped various hedges along the route to the pool, noticed that Bootless has no teeth on the bottom front (didn't annoy him by looking further- he's been eating well & the gums look fine so it must have happened a while back- I blame Purina cat food.)

Went out and watered & weeded some. HOT and HUMID. I don't need no stinkin' sauna. Found a squashed mouse on the walk. Didn't see any mouse on my shoes. Came back to pick it up & it was gone. Suspect Grackle Clean-up.

Had to stop watering because a thunderstorm began. Yes, up until it started raining, I didn't think there was going to be any rain.

Came in & had quick shower because I expected Other Pool Guy at any moment. Then I went in & looked at the closet with tape measure in hand to figure out range of min/max dimensions the bookcase could have. Looks like I could have 4 shelves, 8 inches apart (the paperbacks are all roughly 7 inches high) and one 24" high shelf on the bottom (Maybe photo albums? They're heavy & I rarely look at them). Cutting 4 nice reclaimed wood shelves in half would give me 8 shelves just the size I want for the books (so maybe 2 bookcases? Do I have that many paperbacks? MMM... probably. Or I could make it 9inches in between (making the top shelf only 5 inches, so usable for very little (but would make it less top heavy & maybe knick-knacks go well there) & be able to fit more odd-size books & also avoid knuckle-knock -- hang on, I'm not allowing for the thickness of the shelves (1/2 inch?)...mmm... ok, maybe I'll decrease the space on the bottom shelf a bit & have three shelves with 9 inches in between & the top can take care of itself

Am very sleepy.

Also in sorting through my reclaimed stuff came across a number of thin metal shelf brackets? Could bend those to make book ends. I've got a lot of them. I could put them between two chunks of cement rubble (think I still have a couple large enough pieces) and use my lump hammer to whack them down at right angles.

Am even more sleepy. Tried to do some more needlepoint, but losing interest. & arms tired from weeding & wire cutting.

*Flumph*

Oh dear, I was right...
Maybe someone discovered that when frustrated, you work like hell, and wants to use this to keep you on your toes :-)
I am sorry.
Stormy, rainy? Sleep is the best. I hope in tomorrow!*Hugs*

Sounds like you got a lot done, while waiting for pool guy. Hopefully he'll put in an appearance in the morning.
